Let's face it bubble soccer is one of the most exciting games around but also misunderstood. In general most people use the words "bubble soccer" to refer to not only the games being played but the bubbles themselves. They are also call bubble balls, Zorb balls, Knocker ball, etc.

But when we receive phone calls from people interested in hosting a bubble soccer event I am always asked if there are any other games besides bubble soccer. Well you will be happy to know that yes there are and we are always looking for more!

Here are the top Bubble Ball games that can be played at your event.

  1. Bubble Soccer

bubblesoccer.jpg

Let's be clear we may have other games that can be played with the bubble balls but bubble soccer is still  #1. I know what you're thinking, Aaron this is simple it's soccer played with bubbles!

We'll your half right once you put on the bubbles it's a little more than just old school soccer. Bubble Soccer is more of a mix of football, bumper cars, and chaos rolled in to one. There is one thing I can say however, it's not REAL soccer.

Here's what doesn't exist in bubble soccer as compared to real soccer:

  • No out of bounds

  • No free kicks

  • No yellow or red cards

  • No penalty kicks

  • No slide tackle

Besides that the rules are real simple.

There are two teams on each side from 3-10 people who are battling for the ball and try to score goals. Passing is permitted but not encourage bumping takes the cake in this one folks. The games are around 5 minutes in length or the first team to 3 goals. No subs or half times.

Equipment needed:

  • Bubbles

  • Goals

  • Cones

  • Jerseys

  • Teams

  • Soccer Balls

Bubble Bump Houston provides all of the equipment you need to play a bubble soccer game for the ages.

2. Bubble Ball Prison Break

Prison Break by far is our second most popular game here at bubble bump Houston. If you have ever played capture the flag in a video game, it's kind of like that except with a human. Unlike bubble soccer this game takes a little more strategy and teamwork and is great for corporate team building events. (link to corporate team building page).

Here's how it's played.

8-16 players

Each team has 1 prisoner placed on the other side of the field behind the enemy camp. The rest of the team is guard and their mission is to rescue their team member and bring them back to home base. Each team while attacking also has to guard their prisoner and not allow the other team to rescue them.

You release the prisoner from  jail by touching bubbles and if the prisoner gets knocked down or steps out of bounds they have to return to prison and the game continues. First team to get to three rescues is the winner. Sounds easy huh? Wait till the "bullets" start flying.

3. King/Queen of the Hill

King of the Hill is our top free for all game when your looking for an easy way to get everyone involved without much hassle. There are no team in this game. To set-up everyone bubble player gets in a large circle for the start. When the whistle blows it's basically just the last person standing wins! If you get knocked down you are out and when only two people are left we do what's called a one on one face off until the end! The last person standing is crowned King or Queen!

Equipment Needed:

  • Bubbles

  • Bubblers

4. Protect the President

Protect the president is an awesome game that has the most flexibility to change the pace of play. Each team has a "President" with the rest of the team being "Agents". Each "country" will start the game on opposite ends of the field with the president behind.

In version A of this game each team is protecting their president while attacking the other president and the last president standing wins.

In version B of this game each team plays offense and defense with a time clock of 1 minute. Team A goes on offense and attacks the team B president. If they knock down the president before the minute is up they receive 1 point, if not team A gets a point. Each team rotates until the one team gets to three!

5. Team Domination

Simple last team standing wins. Knock the other team down as fast as possible. Here's the trick to this game.

Can you guess it?

Stay with your teammates it's the easiest way to win. This game  has many different starting point so you choose any kind that is best for you and then proceed to have a blast!

6.Sharks and Minnows

This game has taken on a bunch of different names and our team has went back and forth on what it should be called. Previously we named this face paced game "wolf wolf what time is it" but quickly realized the games is dated and sharks and minnows was more recognizable.

Just like the popular swimming game but played on land and in bubbles. There is one chosen shark in the middle of the field with the minnows all lined up on one side of the field. When the whistle blows all of the minnows run to the opposite side of the field and try not to get eaten by the big bad shark. If a minnow gets "caught-knockdown" they become a shark as well and the last minnow standing is the winner!

7. Sumo

Like regular sumo wrestling with Zorb balls.

Try to knock the other person out of the ring and you are the champion!

8. Heads Up

Last but not least our most popular and "violent" games is a one on one heads up. Nothing more than a mano-e-mano or womano spread ten yards apart race at each other as fast as they can and collide and try their best not to fall.

The person who survives the bump is the winner and has bragging right!

This game can be played tournament style as well.

As you can see we have a few successful games for you to have a fun experience with our bubble balls. All of our event some with a fun coordinator to facilitate the games and make sure everyone is having a great time!
